Getting Back ON the Horse

his year has been full to the brim with life and work, which I’m truly grateful for, but it also came with some challenges.

Amidst all this, I’ve got to be honest—I fell off the horse!

With everything happening, I stopped a number of routine things (this newsletter for one) and my meditation practice. And I don’t know about you, but when I fall off the horse, there is always so much resistance to getting back on.

 A few weeks ago, I gave myself one of those harsh, guilt-driven pep talks: “Come on, don’t be a fraud. Practice what you preach. Sit down and meditate—just do it.”

Practicing Presence

Many times in our daily life we can’t control what happens. This was one of those situations. There was nothing I could do but sit in the line up of cars. What I could control was how I reacted. I had a choice:

Be focused, not idle

The idle mind lends to being stuck, defeated, unmotivated and full of fear.

Pay attention to your thoughts, notice that the judgements and justifications, particularly toward yourself, are dime a dozen.

From Fear to Awakened Leadership

It's not the fear of the thing, or the doing, that keeps you stuck.

We hear all the time. "Go forward – act your way out of fear, fail, learn from the lessons". Without a doubt, action is the key ingredient to creating movement, change and growth.
